Who we are
What's Local Now ("we," "us," or "our") is a trade name of EQ Design, an Idaho S-corporation. We operate the platform at whatslocalnow.com — a community bulletin service for small towns. Each town bulletin is run by a volunteer community organizer.
What information we collect
From subscribers (email readers)
- Your email address, when you sign up to receive a town's daily morning email.
- Your town of interest, so we know which bulletin to send you.
- The date you subscribed.
From submitters (people who post to a bulletin)
- Your name and email address, used to verify your account and notify you about your posts.
- The content you submit — title, details, time, location, and phone number if you choose to include them.
- Your approval status (pending or approved), managed by the town organizer.
From organizers
- Your name, email address, and optionally your phone number for organizer notifications.
- Your town information and bulletin settings.
From sponsors
- Your business name, contact name, and email address when you express interest in sponsoring a bulletin. No payment information is collected on our platform.
Automatically collected
- Basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging. These are not linked to your identity and are deleted regularly.
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels of any kind.
How we use your information
- To send the daily morning email — your email address is used solely to deliver the bulletin you signed up for.
- To manage your submitter account — your name and email let the organizer approve your account and contact you if needed.
- To operate the platform — organizer information is used to run the bulletin, send notifications, and provide the dashboard.
- To display public content — if you include a phone number or location in a post, that information is shown publicly on the bulletin page and in the daily email. Only include contact information you are comfortable sharing publicly.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
We use the following trusted services to operate the platform:
- Supabase — database and authentication. Data stored in the United States.
- Netlify — website hosting and serverless functions.
- Resend — email delivery for daily digests and notifications.
- Make.com — automation for daily digest delivery.
Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We share only the minimum information required for them to do their job.
Email communications
Every daily bulletin email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time and we will remove you from the list within 48 hours. We do not send promotional emails, newsletters, or marketing of any kind — only the town bulletin you signed up for.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time.

Children's privacy
Our service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
